Leigh's current single Crackin'
Cancer was written to help raise funds for Cancer Research after all
'Research Is The Answer - Funding Is The Key'. Each of the
3 verses tells it like it is with the 2nd verse being about Leigh's own
loss of his father to cancer. If you can keep a dry eye
then you have no heart.
As Leigh says "Cancer is
not bias nor racist and does not care about age, it even takes your
dignity and affects everyone around you".
In 2002 Leigh Warren
completed the album 'Play Me a Country Song Backwards', and has 14
tracks all
of which were written, played, recorded and engineered by Leigh himself - not a bad effort for
what is technically his first album.
The title song on
the album is based on the question Leigh
always gets asked of 'why do you always lose everything in country
music' but this has a twist - you see if you play the song
backwards in theory you should get back everything you lost which makes
sense but
be carefull what you wish for...
The
second album 'Dreamers and Would Be's and Outlaws Like Me' has 19
tracks all
of which were written, played, recorded and engineered by Leigh himself
and was completed in 2003.
The title song on the album is based on the types of people that exist
with some people wishing they could be someone else, some people having
the clothing but then its only a costume and others like Leigh that are
who they are because the path chose them.
Because of health issues relating to Major Depression both albums were
never actually released which is a shame considering all the good press
and the following he was receiving BUT the good news is that both
albums are now available for download on iTunes, CDBaby, Amazon plus
others.
People say you draw on
life’s experiences to help
you in what you do in life – if that’s the case then Leigh has plenty to draw on… and
plenty to offer.
So take the time and have a read, have a listen and enjoy Leigh Warren - Australia's Country Music
Outlaw
